The authors have tested melamine cyanurate (MCA) for thickening and extreme pressure antiwear properties of lithium-based greases, and compared it with molybdenum disulfide. The results are shown in Table 4-15.

The above results show that the thickening and oil separating effect of MCA is better than that of molybdenum disulfide, and the anti-wear property is equivalent to MoS2, but the extreme pressure performance is lower than that of disulfide key. Both of them are corrosive to copper and steel. In the study, we also find that fire retardant with different crystal forms (MCA -1 and MCA -2 in the table represent products with two MCA crystal forms) have different modification effects on lubricating grease.
