In recent years, the demand for low-voltage electronic and electrical connectors and automatic switches has increased rapidly, and the quality requirements have become higher and higher. Melamine cyanurate is generally considered unsuitable for fire retardant glass fiber reinforced nylon. This is because of the melamine cyanurate resistance of glass fiber. In the event of fire, nylon produces molten droplets and the flame does not self-extinguish. This is the wick effect of glass fibers. The author uses melamine cyanurate as the main supplementary phosphate ester and other fire retardant to develop low glass fiber reinforced MCA fire retardant nylon. Its basic performance is shown in Table 4-9.
